Manitou has, since its inception, dedicated the entirety of its efforts into smoothing out the roughest terrain for the widest variety of applications possible atop a mountain bike. The Mastodon is the embodiment of Manitou’s steadfast dedication to not only creating suspension that improves the riding experience but that expands the applications, areas, and conditions in which that better suspension performance can be put into action. Not content to create the world’s best fatbike specific suspension, the engineers at Manitou have dedicated a great deal of energy and resources towards innovating and pushing the limits of the Mastodon to make the best even better.

34mm Trail Chassis

Its beefy 34mm trail chassis steers more precisely than any other product on the market.

MANITOU REVERSE ARCH: STIFFER, LIGHTER

The trusted Manitou Reverse Arch requires less material for maximum torsional stiffness making for a lighter yet better performing structure.. The new, updated casting design uses extended reverse arch ribs to render this top performer even stiffer. Better performing and as reliable as ever while coming in with 106g of weight savings (vs outgoing model) on the Pro version and 120g on the Comp makes for a no-compromise performance package ready for it all.

AMAZING VERSATILITY

Available in PRO and COMP versions, the Mastodon is available out of the box in 120mm and 100mm configurations. All options are internally adjustable by the rider in 10mm increments with COMP being internally adjustable from 80mm to 140mm and PRO models gaining extra travel now adjustable from 80mm to 160mm. This represents a huge advantage for shops, who can carry one single SKU instead of several. It is also a breath of fresh air for the rider, who no longer must make a purchase decision based on travel, knowing fully well they can adjust the fork to their needs at any given point in time.

DORADO AIR

Like all Pro level suspension, the Mastodon utilizes the Dorado air spring first debuted in our iconic Dorado model.

VTT6 DAMPER

The Mastodon incorporates the VTT6 damper for a simplified and more intuitive adjustment. The VTT6’s single knob adjusts both high and low speed characteristics. The resulting wide tuning range allows riders to easily find the perfect set up for any terrain.

IVA volume adjustment

IVA volume adjustment allows for fine tuning of the air spring curve that adapts to an extremely wide variety of conditions, riding styles and personal preferences.

Mastodon Pro

The Mastodon is not a modified or repurposed trail fork compatible with large tire dimensions, but rather it is a fatbike fork made to improve any ride regardless of how low or high the numbers on the thermometer read. To create such a dynamic fork required all-environment and all-temperature performance testing that took the R+D staff to some of the most inhospitable testing environments in the world. To earn its place within the Manitou family, the Mastodon passed performance and reliability testing in both real world and lab scenarios at temperatures as low as -40 degrees. Mastodon LE

New for 2022 we have released a limited edition Mastodon Pro with a particular graphic design that pays homage to its frigid weather application. The Mastodon Pro LE Snow Camo, as its name would suggest, boasts a snow camo paint scheme paired with blaze orange decals. Available in the extended ride height version only, the Mastodon Pro LE will be produced in a one-time, 300-unit production run. No more will be produced and, once these are gone, they are gone! The limited-edition Mastodon Pro LE will turn heads thanks to its amazing performance and its unconventional yet captivating graphic treatment.
