The JUNIT range of forks complete the offering necessary for Manitou’s philosophy of accompanying riders with advanced suspension solutions from their first pedal strokes, over every phase in their cycling journey, well into adulthood. ALL MANITOU IS CREATED EQUAL: Same Smooth, Different Size

Manitou doesn’t develop different technology for its youth products but relies on its industry leading versatile tuneability to ensure that the same tech featured on adult suspension gives each and every younger rider an experience tailored to their widely varied needs. Manitou seeks to ensure that the suspension it offers responds to all riders’ sizing needs, but more importantly, that it represents a premium experience for even the youngest of athletes. The line of thinking is that by offering a better first impression, younger riders feel safer, enjoy riding more and are more prone to incorporate cycling into a long-term part of their lives.

STIFF FOR MAX PERFORMANCE, NO MATTER THE HEIGHT

The 34 mm chassis in both the 24 and 26” wheel sizes increases stiffness and allows bigger kids to go even bigger with only benefits and no compromises. 7000 series tapered legs make for an amazingly lightweight yet very stiff chassis, translating into even better performance.

DORADO AIR: PROFESSIONAL TECH FOR A SMOOTHER START

The Dorado Air spring system, specially tuned for young riders, ensures that youth riders can enjoy the same small bump sensitivity and big hit support that adult riders have enjoyed from Manitou for years. Dorado Air also allows for internal travel adjustment without the need for additional parts. New travel spacers account for negative air volume change, so the 100mm fork has the same initial stroke feel as the 160mm, offering even more versatility to the product.

IRT (Infinite Rate Tune)

The IRT (Infinite Rate Tune) allows the young rider to really dial in his or her suspension by independently adjusting air pressures at the beginning and end of the stroke. IRT effectively creates a secondary positive air spring that effects only the middle to end stroke of the fork. Doing so allows the main air spring to be set to lower pressures for improved small bump sensitivity while maintaining mid-stroke support and moderate to aggressive end-stroke ramp-up.

PRO LEVEL DAMPERS FOR TOMORROW'S PRO RIDERS IN THE MAKING

The JUNIT Pro features the VTT-6P, Manitou’s newest compression damper technology featuring an single external compression adjuster that simultaneously adjusts HS and LS damping characteristics. It features a fixed shim stack and a secondary shim stack that is preloaded by the external adjuster. The resulting wide tuning range combines the benefits of a Low-speed platform and High-speed progressive tune can suite any terrain. From fire-road climbs to big flowy jump lines to high-speed chunky rocks, VTT-6P can adapt to all terrain with flick of a switch.

TOP END TECH, TAILORED TO THE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THE YOUTH

The reduced oil volume and tapered 7000 series legs keep weight to a minimum, making for a more manageable suspension solution for the young rider. The rebound of the JUNIT Pro derives from a half cartridge system tuned specifically for the youth rider. Yet another example of how Manitou goes to great lengths to offer prestigious, ride altering (and ride improving) technology even for the youngest riders.

JUNIT Versions

JUNIT 34 Pro

The Junit Pro 34mm represents the absolute maximum in terms of performance, tuneability, lightweight construction and reliability, just like the adult versions of the Manitou Pro lineup. It is a veritable professional level fork with the absolute only differences coming in the size and the tune specific to younger riders and their unique needs. Everything else is built up to the standards of the most demanding athlete competing at the sport’s highest level yet tailored to give specific benefits to the next generation of mountain biking stardom. At 1750 grams the Pro version is extremely light, especially considering the 100-160mm travel range it covers. The Dorado Air spring with IRT derives from the same technology used in our top professional adult forks. The VTT 6 position compression damping and half cartridge adjustable TPC rebound dampening make for a ride that most adults would envy. With adjustable air, IRT, rebound and 6-position compression even smaller riders can enjoy the uncommon benefit of a suspension performance tailored to their specific and individual needs.

JUNIT 34 Expert

The Junit Expert 34mm fork combines a stiff, 34mm chassis to the most functional suspension performance available on the market for the younger riders. The 100-160mm travel range ensures that this one single fork can cover nearly any discipline your young rider cares to take on…and the adjustability to allow him or her to change their minds without the need to change forks. The 1840 gram fork is sturdy, reliable yet plenty light enough for smaller riders to control comfortably. The Expert Air spring with IVA, ABS+ compression damping and in-leg adjustable TPC allows for big performance your growing riders. Adjustable air, air volume, rebound and compression ensure that the performance is not only tailored to a younger rider but precisely to your younger rider and his or her specific needs.

JUNIT COMP

Manitou JUNIT Comp, a youth-sized 20” and 24” suspension fork. Finally, young riders have the option for either a 20” or 24” wheel to enjoy the lightweight, high-quality chassis. JUNIT Comp features a 1.5” tapered alloy steerer tube and a forged hollow crown. Thirty-two millimeter, 6000 series black anodized stanchions are completed with Manitou’s signature Reverse Arch. Lightweight riders benefit from the easily adjustable Air spring system, adjustable rebound, and our proven ABS+ damper.
