A big part of the Manitou fork range’s versatility stems from its extremely wide range of travel as one single model can be easily adjusted in 10mm increments with no need for additional componentry or parts. Adjustability has become yet another calling card for the entire Manitou line (R8 80-120, Mattoc 110-150, Mezzer 140-180mm, Dorado 180-203mm) and the wider range of every fork’s travel options allow them to adapt perfectly to multiple disciplines and many styles of riding. The operation to change travel is simple enough that it can be done at home and the necessary parts are included with the fork.
The rider who purchases a Manitou fork is not buying one, short range of travel, obligating him or her to purchase another suspension solution should their needs or wants to evolve after the initial purchase. From the invention of Manitou’s Reverse Arch calling card to the innovative inverted Dorado DH fork it is evident the brand marches to the tune of its own drummer. However, that design independance is not always outwardly visible with a great deal of innovation occurring internally. Independant oil paths for compression, rebound and platform in shocks to ensure absolute clean tuning to the development of advanced tuning capabilities in forks Manitou often chooses the more difficult design and production path to make for the easiest, most pleasurable experience with suspension possible for the rider.

Manitou has dedicated itself to making things smoother since its inception. In the beginning the mountainbike movement was hard…riders were necessarily hardened by riding rudimentary bikes with not only hard tails but rigid forks too. Eliminating obstacles to the enjoyment of the most beautiful of outdoor sport while simultaneously expanding the terrain over which it could be practiced quickly became not a mission but a mantra within the company.
