The Manitou engineers set off on a parallel path to create a high-performance shock solution that would ensure a rear suspension product that would provide the same lightweight, tunable, reliable, race winning performance that the R8 project represents. While the new inline shock line represents a performance increase that should satisfy even the more demanding athletes desires, the development of an elite XC solution dedicated to a very specific purpose: absolute race winning performance.

Lite Can with Balance Groove Technology
“While its name might reference only its weight, the Lite Can has been developed for the unique needs of XC competition in a 360-degree manner. The Lite Can utilizes Balance Groove Technology, a design that allows positive and negative pressures to equalize, providing great small bump compliance in the early part of the shock stroke. Such a design allows for great small bump compliance regardless of rider size. The premise is the same as the King Can but with a reduction in overall volume for riders looking for a less linear feel to the shock. The lower volume structure serves not only to lower overall weight but also provide the compression support required for the rigors of modern XC. The XC focused air can is available on 190mm Eyelet and 165mm trunnion shocks. It has a fixed air volume and is available in 37.5-45mm stroke.”

The XC specific shim stack, meticulously developed to offer an extremely firm lockout while retaining an amazingly plush open mode for optimum traction and rider control ensures that whatever the situation calls for, the Mara Pro IL is ready to deliver. Super smooth open mode for the insidious nature of modern XC courses pairs with an unbelievably firm lockout to create the perfect tool for the competitive athlete’s trade.
Remote Compatible Knobs
In modern XC there is barely time to drink, let alone adjust suspension. As such it is an obligatory measure for any respectable XC shock to include remote adjustment. The Mara Pro IL includes remote compatible knobs that pair perfectly with the Manitou Deuce lever.
COMPLETE PACKAGE - Full Optional Full Suspension
The new IPA shaft and its 3-position adjustment (for the XC version) improves upon the shocks lockout performance but adds a great deal of versatility. Available in a 37.5-45mm stroke lengths, the shock comes with a prestigious SKF Internal Floating Piston and includes Rebound with detents. Such a complete package of well thought out design, sophisticated solutions and creature comforts make for an Air Shock that leaves nothing to be desired.
